Chilbolton, Hampshire

This charming formation in barley seems to refer to the Sierpinski Gasket, a fractal based on equilateral triangles reducing in size. The back-to-back equilateral has not been a common theme. We saw it used last year in the delightful and sadly under- reported flax-seed formation of 17th August at Stanton St Bernard.

Stylistically Chilbolton anticipates the breathtaking West Overton octahedron which is also based on equilaterals.
